In anticipation of winter weather that could potentially bring more snow, ice and school closings, basketball region tournament planners for Region 8-AA proactively altered its tourney schedule to account for the weather. Originally, the 8-AA tournament was to be held exclusively at Rabun County, with games being played on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

To combat the incoming weather, 8-AA tourney planners got creative, moving all first round games to Monday and dividing the games between three venues - Rabun County, Jefferson and Greene County. There will be no games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The two semifinal games will take place on Friday, while the championship and third-place playoff will take place Saturday - the Friday and Saturday games will be played as originally scheduled at Rabun County.
