Georgia high school lacrosse was represented well over the weekend at the Florida-Georgia Showdown in Lake Mary, Fla. The delegation of Northview, Centennial, Lambert and Milton’s boys teams combined to go 7-1 in a series of matchups with teams from Florida.

Lambert’s 2-0 mark might be the most impressive. The Longhorns, who are ranked No. 3 in Class AAAAAA, knocked off Lake Mary (Fla.), 10-6, and Barron Collier (Fla.), 7-2. Both teams are ranked among the state’s top 10 by LaxPower.com.

No. 2 Centennial (11-1) continued its impressive recent run with a pair of lopsided wins. The Knights, who have won seven straight, defeated Tampa-Plant (Fla.) and Gulf Coast (Fla.) by a combined total of 45-9, scoring 20-plus goals for the sixth and seventh times this season.

Milton, the only unranked team from Georgia at the event, took the state’s only loss, earning a 1-1 mark overall.
