Each week, we'll take a look at four teams of the state's top teams — two from the boys' side, two from the girls — and see how they're doing at this point in the season. Last week, we took a look at the No. 1-ranked teams.

Here are the latest AJC rankings. Now, let's move on to the four featured teams.

North Gwinnett Bulldogs (10-0)

Upcoming matches: off until April 11.

Notes: According to the Bulldogs' schedule, there will be no games played between now and mid-April, with the Gwinnett County Public Schools calendar listing April 2-6 as Spring Break. The No. 2 Bulldogs have a perfect record thus far, though only two of those teams have come against teams with winning records. However, both of those teams are ranked — they beat No. 7 Grayson 13-5 and No. 9 Cambridge 14-3.

Westminster Wildcats (9-2)

Upcoming matches: at 6A-7A's No. 1 Lambert on Thursday.

Notes: The defending A-5A state champion Wildcats — ranked No. 2 — have one remaining match before their break but it's a big one, on the road against Lambert (10-0), the best team in the state's highest classification. The Longhorns won 14-5 last year and have beat Wesleyan in each of the last three seasons. The Wildcats last played on March 24, when they beat 6A-7A's No. 5 Walton 11-6. They also have wins over No. 10 Whitefield Academy and out-of-state schools Memphis University and Christ School (N.C.).

Centennial Lady Knights (9-0)

Upcoming matches: at Roswell (5-3) on Tuesday; at Brookwood (8-1) on Thursday.

Notes: The No. 2 team in 6A-7A has two games before their break and both are on the road against unranked opponents that have winning records. The Lady Knights have wins over No. 6 North Gwinnett, No. 7 Kennesaw Mountain, A-5A's No. 5 Westminster and Tennessee's Harpeth Hall.

Wesleyan Lady Wolves (6-1)

Upcoming matches: vs. No. 6 Marist (5-0) on Tuesday.

Notes: The Lady Wolves, who are A-5A’s No. 2 team, play one game this week and two next week. Their lone matchup this week is against a Marist team that hasn’t lost. The two last played in 2015, with Marist winning 16-12. Their lone loss was 12-6 to top-ranked Blessed Trinity. They have one win against a ranked opponent, which came against No. 10 Woodward Academy by a score of 19-3.
