Each week, we'll take a look at four of the state's top teams — two from the boys' side, two from the girls — and see how they're doing at this point in the season.

Here are the latest AJC rankings. Now, let's move on to the four featured teams.

Lambert Longhorns (12-0)
Upcoming matches: at Forsyth Central (2-8) on Wednesday; at No. 9 Cambridge (8-5) on Saturday.
Notes: The Longhorns are No. 1 in 6A-7A and aiming for their second state title in three seasons. Notable wins include No. 3 Centennial, North Carolina's Northwest Guilford and Lake Norman, No. 5 Johns Creek and A-5A's No. 2 Westminster. It's possible they run the tables on the regular season, but they have a challenge this week in No. 9 Cambridge and none of their five remaining opponents after Forsyth Central have losing records. The Forsyth Central game should serve as a nice tune-up for the final stretch, as the Longhorns last played on March 29.

Lovett Lions (9-3)
Upcoming matches: at East Paulding (5-6) on Wednesday; vs. Pace Academy (9-2) on Friday.
Notes: A-5A's top-ranked Lions lost to No. 2 Westminster on Friday by a score of 10-7, which marked their second consecutive loss. The other was to 6A-7A's No. 3 Centennial, 16-11, on March 31. While the competition was stiff, it's possible the skid costs them their top spot in the new rankings, which come out tomorrow. Notable wins include No. 5 Marist, No. 3 Kell, No. 9 Wesleyan, 6A-7A's No. 9 Cambridge, No. 10 Whitefield Academy and Florida's Lake Mary and Lake Highland Prep.

Milton Lady Eagles (9-5)
Upcoming matches: at Chattahoochee (4-4) on Wednesday.
Notes: The Lady Eagles are No. 1 in 6A-7A and are No. 3 in USLacrosse Magazine's South Girls' Top 10 poll behind Hutchison (Tenn.) and American Heritage-Delray (Fla.). Last week, they went 2-1 at the St. Stephens & St. Agnes School (SSSAS) 27th Annual Spring Fling in Alexandria, Va., beating Holy Child and Holy Cross, and losing 17-16 to Good Counsel. All three schools were from Maryland. They've played some of the best schools in the nation, including USLacrosse Magazine National Top 25 teams No. 7 American Heritage-Delray, No. 8 St. Stephens & St. Agnes and No. 12 Bishop Ireton (Va.). Notable wins include No. 5 Walton, and North Carolina's Cardinal Gibbons, ranked No. 6 in the USLacrosse Magazine South Girls' Top 10.

Blessed Trinity Lady Titans (11-1)
Upcoming matches: at No. 6 Pinecrest Academy (8-1) on Wednesday.
Notes: The only blemish on the two-time defending champion Lady Titans' record is an 8-5 loss to 6A-7A's No. 5 Walton, with the other 11 wins being the reason they're the top-ranked team in A-5A. Notable wins include Kennesaw Mountain, No. 8 Fellowship Christian, No. 2 Wesleyan, No. 3 Kell and 6A-7A's No. 8 Mill Creek. Their game Wednesday will be the first since March 28, when they extended their win streak to five with a 17-4 win over Westminster.
