Grayson is set to announce Christian Hunnicutt as head coach to replace Jeff Herron on Friday afternoon, the Gwinnett Daily Post is reporting.

Hunnicutt was head coach at East Jackson last season and led the team to a 4-6 finish. East Jackson had won only three games total in the previous four seasons.

Prior to that, he was on Grayson's staff for a season under Mickey Conn.

Hunnicutt  also has assisted at Peach County and Lowndes but is best known for his time at Buford. He was the program's offensive coordinator from 2004 to 2011, during which the Wolves won seven state titles. He came to Buford in 1997, initially as an offensive line coach.

Hunnicutt, a Marietta native and Osborne graduate, will be Grayson's third coach in three seasons. Herron led Grayson to the Class AAAAAAA title with a 14-1 record in his only season. Herron resigned last month to take a job at T.L. Hanna in Anderson, S.C.

Conn started the program in 2000, won a state title in 2011 and left after the 2015 season to join the staff at Clemson.
