The Hawks-Naismith Classic completed play on Saturday at Norcross High School after moving through a schedule of eight games throughout the day.
In the penultimate game of the evening, the Class AAAAAAA No. 4 Grayson boys defeated top-ranked McEachern 83-57 after leading 24-10 following the first quarter. Grayson extended its lead to 42-23 at the break and put the game away with a 23-16 run in the fourth quarter. The victory moved the Rams to 10-1 on the season. Caleb Murphy, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, led with 24 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. He was 10-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. Deivon Smith and Toneari Lane each finished with 17 points and Ian Schieffelin scored 13 points for Grayson. Sharife Cooper scored 17 points to lead McEachern, which was undefeated entering the game. Cameron McDowell scored 15 points and Bobby More finished with 10 points for McEachern.
Maynard-Jackson 48, Brookwood 43 (girls): Jackson trailed 9-8 after the first quarter but took the lead after a 15-11 effort in the second quarter. Brookwood put together a 13-8 run in the third quarter, but Jackson put the game away with a 17-10 run in the fourth quarter. Xavier Dyer led Jackson with 18 points and 25 rebounds, 13 on offense and 12 on defense, and two assists with five steals. Diana Collins led Brookwood with 13 points. Selma Kulo had 10 rebounds to lead Brookwood.
Campbell 56, North Cobb 43 (girls): Campbell, ranked No. 10 in Class AAAAAAA defeated No. 8 North Cobb and Jameah Alston's 17 points led. Nia Bozeman and Sarah Taub each scored 11 points to lead the Spartans. North Cobb was led by Azonya Austin who scored 14 points.
Milton 84, Westside-Macon 47 (boys): Class AAAAAAA No. 5 Milton had four players in double-figures in the romp of the Seminoles. Bruce Thornton led with 21 points, Cameron Walker scored 18 points, Evan Hurst finished with 17 points and L.T. Overton scored 14 points. Javian Mosely scored 25 points to lead Westside and Kowacie Reeves Jr. scored 14 points.
Lambert 74, Central-Macon 65 (boys): Lambert had three players in double-figures in the victory over Central-Macon. Luke Champion led with 21 points, Will Baker scored 16 points and Brandon Stoudemire finished with 14 points. Quay Primas led the Chargers with 32 points and Harold Thompkins scored 13 points.
Sandy Creek 62, Gainesville 51 (boys): Sandy Creek, ranked No. 7 in Class AAAA, had three players in double-figures as it moved past Gainesville. Jabari Smith led with 21 points, Deshon Proctor scored 14 points and Immanuel Alexander finished with 11 points. Walt Dixon scored 14 points to lead Gainesville. Robert Reisman finished with 10 points for the Red Elephants.
Southwest DeKalb 56, Discovery 47 (boys): Four players finished in double-figures as Southwest DeKalb defeated Discovery. Eugene Brown led with 15 points and Rion White scored 10 points. Jarrett Walton and Jacorry Gist finished with 10 points each. London Riley's 14 points led Discovery. Charles Blamo and J.J. Hawkins each scored 10 points.
Norcross 72, Tucker 63 (boys): Tucker pulled within five points 47-42 with 7:23 left in the game but Norcross put the game away on a 25-21 run. Quincy Ademokoya led Norcross with 27 points and J.T. Thor scored 15 points. Tucker was led by Terrance Edwards who finished with 36 points. Jermontae Hill scored 14 points for the Tigers.
