Franklin Pridgen, Wesleyan
1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach?"Certainly our win over ECI in the 2008 state finals tops my list. We had upset Lincoln County the week before in the semis on a very cold night, and we were still banged up heading into the Dome to meet ECI. Not sure many folks outside our locker room believed we could win that game, but our kids believed and in the end that is all that matters. It was an unforgettable moment for sure." [Wesleyan won 33-21 to end ECI's 29-game winning streak.]
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why?"I couldn't possibly limit it to just one because I have had the privilege to come across so many incredible people that I would love to coach my son. Will Jackson, Larry Sherrill and Ed Dudley would be my top three, I guess. All are master coaches, but it is their character and faith that make them stand out to me. I am so fortunate that with Coach Dudley on our staff currently, that wish is actually coming true." [Pridgen's son Andrew, a sophomore, is a tight end/defensive end at Wesleyan.]
3. What is your favorite saying/motto?"#hardworkwins"
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? "I'd like to see the six-quarter rule amended to allow small schools to use JV players on special teams and in other varsity situations regardless of their quarters played the day before since depth is such an issue."
