GHSF Daily's Four Question feature historically poses the same questions to a different Georgia head coach each issue. This season, head coaches are being asked Four Questions tailored to current events. Today's interviewee is Rockmart coach Biff Parson, whose team defeated county rival Cedartown 20-14 last week with a 57-yard TD pass with 20 seconds left. The victory was Rockmart's first over a ranked team since 2008.

Biff Parson, Rockmart head coach

1. What happened on the game-winning TD pass against Cedartown? "Dylan Bailey, scrambling to his right, completed a deep crossing pass to Juke Boozer, who took his momentum across the field and outran Cedartown's secondary. It is a play call we would make in a normal situation. We had called it five times before, and we never seemed to execute it; however, we executed it when it mattered. I was excited for our kids to see how they had fought for four quarters against a very good Cedartown football team. The joy and excitement that they had after that play was priceless."

2. Why was the win over Cedartown significant to your program? "I do not know how significant the win is yet. We will not know that until next week when we take the field against Central of Carrollton. Any time you can beat your crosstown rivals, that's always a big deal. I will say this - our community here in Rockmart really showed tremendous support for our kids. It gave our town hope and belief because of the way the game was won and how our kids fought and did not give up."

3. Rockmart was 2-8 in 2015. In your two seasons as head coach, Rockmart has finished 9-3 and 9-3 and now is ranked No. 10 in Class AA. What have been the most important factors in Rockmart turning the corner and having success? "Here within our football program, we have a 'Standard.' When you hold kids, coaches and support staff accountable every day and there is consistency that is present and visible, then trust is earned and you want to be part of something bigger than yourself. We try and make sure our players are doing what's right on and off the field, treating others the way they want to be treated. All we want is all they got (effort and attitude). That's the 'Standard' here at Rockmart. I think those have been the important factors that have helped this program have the success that we have had in the last couple of years."

4. What are your team's prospects from here? "Each year, you have to find an identity within your seniors. Each team will be different year to year. We believe that each senior class has to find their unique way to lead and leave their mark and legacy, and that will change year to year. We are excited about this year and this team. However, we have a long way to go and will try and improve week to week and we try and help these kids make the right choices and learn to overcome adversity each week as we work together as a team."
