Four Questions with Lithia Springs coach Craig Chatman

GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.
Craig Chatman, Lithia Springs
1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach? "2014 Lithia Springs vs. Chapel Hill. It was my first win as a head coach, but it was the program's first win since Oct. 19, 2012. Just the look on the guys' faces at the end of the game is something that will stay with me forever. I was very appreciative of the work that they had put in that offseason, and to get to see it pay off early in the season was an awesome thing. I would say if you have never been a part of something like that, then you need to be. It put a lot of things about high school athletics in perspective for me."
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why? "I have three daughters, but if I had a son I would have wanted him to play for [former Lovejoy head coach] Al J. Hughes. I have never seen a coach so in tune with his players. He was a master at communication within the team, and I would know that my 'son' would be taken care of academically, athletically and spiritually."
3. What is your pet peeve as a coach? "Players not being on time. My wife is 45 minutes early to everything we do, and I was trained as a coach with the hour principle. Be there one hour before the players get there so you can get everything set up for your day."
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? "I would love to see the acclimation practices broken down a little differently. I would like to see three days in only helmets and then two days in shells. I believe that would help the acclimation to full-pad workouts. Normally the first day in pads is the worst because you had that extra weight to the body in the heat. I think it would help the body acclimate a little more."
