Four Questions with Greene County coach Robert Edwards

GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.
Robert Edwards, Greene County
1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach? "In high school, the Villa Rica playoff game won by penetration. Great game. [Edwards' Washington County team beat Villa Rica 22-21 in the first round on the way to a Class AA runner-up finish in 1992. It was Washington County's first playoff victory in 10 years and set the stage for a three-state-title dynasty in the 1990s]. For college, it's a three-way tie - the 1997 Georgia-Florida game, the 1996 Auburn five-overtime game and the 1995 South Carolina game. Five touchdowns. It was my first game at running back." [Edwards set a University of Georgia single-game record with five touchdowns in a game. A first-round pick in the NFL, Edwards rushed for 1,115 yards as a rookie before suffering a near career-ending injury.]
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why? "Past: Rick Tomberlin [Edwards' high school coach at Washington County.] Great coach that taught me a lot about the game and is still giving me advice whenever I need it. Present: Lee Shaw [current coach at Rabun County], the kind of coach I aspire to be. He loves what he does, he loves the game, and he loves his boys."
3. What is your pet peeve as a coach or favorite saying/motto? "Giving up and quitting is a pet peeve. Saying or motto: 'Put your whole self in!'"
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? "None."
