Alecia North scored the game-winning basket with an off-balance flip in the lane with 11 seconds remaining, giving Carrollton a 43-42 victory over Veterans in the Class AAAA girls semifinals Saturday. Veterans' 3-pointer at the buzzer was short. It was the only lead of the game for ninth-ranked Carrollton, which fell behind 10-0 in the first five minutes and did not get back to within five points until the fourth quarter. North led Carrollton with 16 points, and Emily Waters added 11. Third-ranked Veterans (30-2) was making its first appearance in the semifinals.
