How the game was won: Carrollton (3-3) took a 30-0 lead into the fourth quarter and opened Region 5 play with a convincing victory over Fayette County, while extending its winning streak to three games. Carrollton capitalized on three Fayette County turnovers and controlled the game on the ground with 139 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns by Jaylan Thomas. Carrollton quarterback Mark Wright got the scoring starting with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Culwell with 7:34 left in the opening quarter. After Thomas' first touchdown, Mitch McLendon added a 28-yard field goal that capped off a 15-play, nine-minute drive to give Carrollton a 16-0 lead at the half.

Top performers: Carrollton running back Jaylan Thomas ran the ball 20 times for 90 yards and three touchdowns. … Conrad Jackson and Keegan Hill recovered fumbles for Carrollton and the team produced three sacks and six tackles for loss.
