Ted Roof's central role in recruitment of Swillings

NEW ORLEANS — Georgia Tech signees Tre Swilling and Bruce Jordan-Swilling had one obvious reason to select Tech from the host of schools that offered them scholarships — their father, Pat, achieved legend status as a Yellow Jackets linebacker and is a proud Tech alumnus.
But the brothers would tell you that the greater influence was their father’s teammate and close friend, defensive coordinator Ted Roof.
“It was the biggest influence in us going there,” Tre said.
