Georgia Tech’s spring game will be played Friday night, rain or shine.

The Weather Channel forecast for 7 p.m. – when the annual game to end spring practice is scheduled to begin – is a 100 percent chance of precipitation, though lightning does not appear likely. For logistical and other reasons, the game won’t be moved from Friday evening.

As a concession to the weather, the standard ban on umbrellas will be lifted.

Pre-game festivities are still planned, though modifications will be made. Some activities will be moved into the north concourse of Bobby Dodd Stadium. The pre-game concert by Reuben’s Bell was still part of the plans as of Friday morning.

The post-game fireworks show will likely be called off. The game may be shortened if field conditions become unsafe for play. The game will be streamed online at ESPN3, with Brandon Gaudin, Roddy Jones and Sean Bedford providing the call.
