ACC Power Poll

A commenter from last week’s ACC’s Power Poll said that it was obvious that reporters from North Carolina stuffed the ballot to ensure those teams moved up. This week, Milo from the Daily Picayune, Peter from the Daily Bugle and Clark from the Daily Planet didn't let their regional bias show. Clemson (1): The Tigers (7-0, 4-0) defeated N.C. State 24-14 when the Wolfpack missed short field goal as time expired. Next: Off.
Louisville (2): They (5-1, 3-1) defeated Duke 24-14 with a little bit of help from a silly roughing-the-kicker penalty. Next: vs. N.C. State.
Florida State (3): The Seminoles (5-2, 2-2) once again had a difficult time defeating Wake Forest, which doesn't make a lot of sense. Next: Off.
North Carolina (5): The Tar Heels (5-2, 3-1) bounced back from the debacle at Virginia Tech to handle Miami. Next: at Virginia.
Pittsburgh (7): The Panthers (5-2, 2-1) handled their business in defeating Virginia. Next: off.
Virginia Tech (4): How could the Hokies (4-2, 2-1) lose to Syracuse? Next: vs. Miami on Thursday.
Miami (6): The Hurricanes (4-2, 1-2) have lost two consecutive games under Mark Richt. Next: at Virginia Tech on Thursday.
N.C. State (8): The team (4-2, 1-1) pulled an N.C. State in the loss to Clemson. Next: at Louisville.
Wake Forest (9): One of the great mysteries is why the Demon Deacons (5-2, 2-2) give the Seminoles so much trouble. Talk about weird. Next: Off.
Georgia Tech (10): Tech (4-3, 1-3) did what it needed to knock off its in-state rival. Still difficult to tell how good or bad this team may be. Next: Off.
Duke (11): The Blue Devils (3-4, 0-3) are going to rue not taking advantage of their chance against Louisville. Next: Off.
Virginia (12): They (2-4, 1-1) saw their two-game winning streak snapped by Pitt. Next: vs. North Carolina.
Syracuse (13): Big win for the Orange (3-4, 1-2) over Virginia Tech last week. Next: at Boston College.
Boston College (14): The Eagles (3-3, 0-3) were off, so count it as a win. Next: vs. Syracuse.

Morgan Burnett, Packers, safety: Ten tackles in a 30-16 loss to the Cowboys.
Adam Gotsis, Broncos, DT: No tackles in a 21-13 loss to the Chargers.
Michael Johnson, Bengals, DE/OLB: Three tackles, including a sack, in a 35-17 loss to the Patriots.
Shaq Mason, Patriots, OL: Started the 35-17 win over the Bengals.
Daryl Smith, Bucs, LB: Off.
Demaryius Thomas, Broncos, WR: Five receptions for 35 yards in a 21-13 loss to the Chargers.
