MARTA is losing one of its top administrators to a new job in Florida.

The web site Florida Politics reports that Ben Limmer, MARTA's assistant general manager, will become the new CEO for the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority. That authority's board has voted unanimously to enter into contract negotiations with Limmer, its sole finalist.

Limmer joined MARTA in 2016, overseeing the agency's planning and development initiatives. Among other things, he played a key role in developing and presenting the "More MARTA" expansion in Atlanta.

Prior to joining MARTA, Limmer was the transportation director of the Atlanta Beltline.
