You may want to avoid driving on I-75 at night this week. Rolling lane closures on I-75 northbound could impact a large swath of metro Atlanta drivers if you're stuck traveling during evening hours.

Contractors will be installing road pavement markers (RPMs) overnight starting on Tuesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The work will end at 5 a.m. on Sunday. The area to impacted stretches about 37 miles, from the I-675 interchange near Stockbridge in Henry County through downtown Atlanta and up to Cumberland Boulevard in Cobb County.

Installing the pavement markers (pictured below in a photo provided by Georgia Department of Transportation) is a slow-moving operation, which will require workers to slow down traffic. Motorists should expect multiple lane closures at a time.

GDOT is asking the public to slow down while driving through the work zone.
