The “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” star appeared on “The Real” this week to discuss her businesses and upcoming projects. The media personality and rapper, whose real name is Karlie Lewis, also took a moment to set the record straight about her age.

“I’ve never been afraid to tell my age,” she said. “I just don’t know what the obsession is with it. Maybe it’s because we look young and beautiful.”

When co-host Jeannie Mai blankly asked, “Is it true that you are 45 years old,” Redd said, “yes.”

Lewis’ confirmation elicited claps and cheers from the audience, but she said she doesn’t understand why people care.

“I have no idea,” the rapper said during the interview. “It’s like top trending everywhere. I don’t understand.”

Co-host Loni Love suggested people are so curious, because the reality star doesn’t look her age.

Love said, “You don’t look it, so people want to know your secret.”
