We’ll focus on team-needs, possible selections, players the Falcons have worked out and/or interviewed, etc. The Falcons own 10 picks in this draft. Today we’ll look at Louisville safety Calvin Pryor, who recently visited the Falcons at their Flowery Branch offices.

Combine Numbers: 4.58 seconds in the 40-yard dash; 18 reps on the 225-pound bench press; 34.5-inch vertical jump and 9-8 broad jump, 4.30 in the shuttle and 6.98 in the three-cone drill.

Projected Round: He's the 2nd rated safety in the draft and is projected to be selected in the first by NFLDraftScout.com.

Career Highlights: Last season, Pryor, known for his crushing hit and sure tackles, had 69 tackles, 5.5 for losses, three interceptions and two forced fumbles. He played in 13 games as a true freshman for the Cardinals, starting seven contests.

Quotes: "I love the game of football and I was brought on toughness. To play the game of football you have to be tough and it's a thinking game. My father really instilled (toughness) in me at a young age. When I used to fall on the ground and I think I hurt myself, he would just tell me to get back up and just keep going. …I feel like I'm a very versatile player. I can drop in the middle of the field and cover a lot of range and just break on the ball."

Falcons level on interest: High. The Falcons released safety Thomas DeCoud and have big hole in the secondary. Pryor would only be in play if they trade out of the sixth position in order to garner more picks. They can't take him with the sixth pick and he'll be long gone by the time they select with the 37th pick in the second around.
