Former Detroit Lions and Georgia Tech star wide receiver Calvin Johnson will host his "Going Purple" bowl-a-thon event, which is a fundraiser to help strike out pancreatic cancer, 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Midtown Bowl.

Atlanta among airports where FAA will cut flights due to shutdown

The U.S. Department of Transportation will cut flights by 10% across 40 of the nation’s busiest airports on Friday to alleviate pressure on air traffic controllers.
