Atlanta Falcons, Bow Wow and more pay tribute to Migos rapper Takeoff

Atlanta is continuing to honor the life and legacy of Takeoff, one-third of the Migos, as tributes continue to pour in from the city and beyond.
On Sunday, Nov. 6, the Atlanta Falcons made sure to remember Takeoff during their home game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, right before the team faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers. A Migos song played while several pictures of Takeoff were displayed on the stadium monitors.
The Falcons aren’t the only ones in Atlanta who have paid their respects. Bow Wow, who was in town for the “Millennium Tour: Turned Up!” also made it his business to honor Takeoff during his show. “The last time I saw Take was about six weeks ago in this building in the same dressing room that I’m in right now, and we had a good time; we went to Magic City,” Bow Wow shared with the crowd on stage. A picture of Takeoff was displayed on the big screen while Migos music played in the background.
A mural of Takeoff has also been painted by local artist Armando Monoletti. The mural is an image of a smiling Takeoff right along the Atlanta BeltLine.
Atlanta Mayor, Andre Dickens, also took the time to remember Takeoff and the legacy he left behind via an Instagram video. Mayor Dickens’ caption stated, in part, “His loss hurts. I’ve met him. I’ve shared space with the whole crew. I wanted to talk to them before talking about it. Losing him hurts...”
Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was shot and killed Nov. 1 outside of a bowling alley in Houston. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene after an argument led to gunfire from at least two weapons, the Houston Police Department said.
Fans and celebrities alike have taken to social media to mourn the loss of the rapper, who was killed in a senseless act of violence. Check out a few of the reactions from social media below, as we continue to keep Takeoff’s family, friends and fans in our prayers.
