Here’s what to know this weekend for the 2022 AJC Peachtree Road Race

It’s been a long two years of ATLiens adapting to virtual and hybrid events during the pandemic, but this year feels a bit more “normal.” The “world’s largest 10K” is right around the corner and in-person and virtual options were both offered.

You know it’s not the Fourth of July in Atlanta without the annual tradition, and this year - can you believe it - it’s the 53rd running of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race.

With the race less than one week away, we gotta ask: Are you race-day ready?

Whether you’re participating in the race or supporting from the sidelines, here are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind this weekend for the 2022 AJC Peachtree Road Race.

How can I watch the race?

Those interested in watching the 10K from home can view the live race on WXIA-TV 11Alive. The local broadcast will air Monday, July 4 with pre-race coverage starting at 5:30 a.m.

Can I still sign up to volunteer?

It is not too late to volunteer! The Atlanta Track Club relies on thousands of volunteers to ensure the race is a success, and they are still in need of volunteers. What road closures can we expect?

The entire 10K course is closed to traffic. The 6.2 miles of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race takes participants from the streets of Buckhead to the corners of Midtown, wrapping up in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park.
