Cooper of the Oakland Raiders and Peterson of the Arizona Cardinals never played against one another when they were in college.

We sure wish they did after the former Alabama receiver and LSU cover corner had their own little Bama-LSU showdown in the NFL preseason on Sunday.

The rookie receiver went toe-to-toe with the defensive back and hauled in a 37-yard completion from Derek Carr — not a bad highlight reel for Cooper.

Peterson, the former LSU star was drafted 5th overall in the 2011, has been named to the NFL All-Pro team twice. But the veteran had some trouble dragging down the rookie who gained an extra 15 yards after first contact.
