Why did Kenyan Drake sign with Alabama over UGA out of Hillgrove High School?

The Alabama running back explained his decision-making process at Wednesday’s SEC Media Days.

And Drake may have given UGA some bulletin board material in the process (the two teams play in Athens on Oct. 3).

"I think it was because of the fact that it was Alabama and I like to be a winner," Drake said, according to Macon.com's Jason Butts. "Honestly at the end of the day, going to Alabama would put me in the best position to be the person I want to be on and off the field."

Drake has been on two SEC championship teams while at Alabama. Meanwhile, UGA did OK without Drake as part of its 2012 signing class – the Bulldogs landed running backs Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall.
