Two weeks after announcing its SouthBites food track for 2015's South by Southwest Interactive, the festival has unveiled another track that will combine technology with another area: SXstyle.
Rebranded from last year’s “Style X,” the fashion track will run March 13-17 at what will be the new JW Marriott and will be open to all Interactive, Gold and Platinum badgeholders. On Wednesday, SXSW announced three featured speakers and 15 panels with more to come for SXstyle.
Genevieve Bell, cultural anthropologist at Intel Labs, who was previously announced as a featured speaker; Jennifer Hyman, CEO and co-founder of Rent the Runway and Deena Varshavskaya, founder and CEO of Wanelo are three of the featured speakers. Bell will do a session with author Tim Ferriss while Hyman will join Sephora's Julie Bornstein and Katrina Lake of Stitch Fix in a session on redefining the retail experience.
Other sessions will feature Kenneth Cole, Eva Chen of Lucky Magazine with a strong emphasis on wearable tech, design, fashion customization and 3-D printing.
The festival is scheduled to announce a big round of about 500 additional panels on Monday.
