After a cool start Sunday morning temperatures should climb into the mid 70s.

“It was definitely chilly this morning, in the 30s,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Temperatures were 72 degrees in Atlanta, 65 in Blairsville and 73 in Griffin just before 5 p.m.

Warmer than usual temperatures will continue through Monday.

Temperatures will dip on election day, but will warm back up to the mid-70s later in the week, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Monahan said to expect a cold front moving closer on election day, which will generate more clouds and temperatures in the lower 70s.

Things will warm back up to the mid-70s on Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above average for this time of year, Monahan said.

Extreme drought conditions continue in the northern half of the state.
