Five tornadoes were confirmed in North Georgia and two in Middle Georgia after storms hit areas throughout the state Wednesday.

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado in Whitfield and Toombs counties, an EF-0 in Gilmer, Fannin and Laurens counties, and two EF-0 tornadoes in Gordon County.

The tornadoes moved between 70 and 95 mph and sent trees down throughout the areas.

In Toombs County, where the tornado moved at 95 mph, several businesses had minor roof damage.

Otherwise, damage was minimal.
