Temperatures reached the 80s Tuesday afternoon in Atlanta, and they will inch closer to 90 degrees Wednesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Highs will reach 87 degrees Wednesday and Thursday, and there’s no considerable rain in sight.

There is a 10 percent chance of rain Thursday, and a 20 percent chance Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

High pressure drifting to the east is helping bring in westerly winds and warm temperatures.

Temperatures were 83 degrees in Atlanta, 78 degrees in Blairsville and 84 degrees in Griffin just after 7 p.m.

Lows will stay in the 70s Wednesday night with mostly clear skies. Expect highs to stay in the mid 80s the rest of the week.
