A sunny, chilly morning slowly turned cloudy as a high-pressure system moved into the area Sunday.
Sunday’s high is forecast in the mid-60s, according to Channel 2 Action News.
There’s a 30 percent chance of rain, with a few showers across North Georgia forecast by the evening.
But if you have outdoor plans, “you’re gonna be fine during the daylight hours,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
Any showers would start overnight, ushering in rainfall early this week.
Monday, with a forecast high in the high 60s, comes with a 40 percent chance of showers, Monahan said.
Those chances increase on Election Day, during which storms are likely, Monahan said. Some areas of North Georgia could see half an inch of rain or more.
Over the last five years, there has not been significant rainfall on Election Day, according to Monahan.
Traffic relief could be in store on a stretch of I-85. A 10-mile extension of the I-85 express lanes in Gwinnett County opened Saturday.

One new toll lane in each direction will go from the end of the existing express lanes at Old Peachtree Road near Suwanee up to Hamilton Mill Road.
The extension means I-85 now has 25 miles of toll lanes.
You’ll need a Peach Pass to use the lanes. If you try to use the toll lanes without one, you could get a $25 ticket.
