Light showers wet metro Atlanta roads throughout the day Tuesday, and they are expected to continue through the rush hour and into Wednesday.

“If you’re headed out tonight, you may have to dodge an isolated shower,” Channel 2 Action News Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns said.

Burns said showers in southern Cobb County were heading toward Paulding County shortly before 5 p.m. and by 8:30 p.m. storms brought rain to Gwinnett County and farther east, over Dacula and Winder.

Temperatures were 85 degrees in Atlanta, 79 degrees in Blairsville and 82 degrees in Griffin at 8:30 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to linger in the 80-degree range through Friday.

Rain chances will increase to 60 percent Wednesday and drop to 40 percent Thursday.
