There should be a change in the weather pattern Saturday in metro Atlanta. But that also means what amounts to a cool snap.
“We’re going to break away from that cool, drizzly, showery weather pattern we’ve had for the last couple of days,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.
The temp, however, should stay in the 50s. At noon, the reading should be 55 on the way to a high of 59, according to Channel 2.
That’s well below the average of 70 for this date. But the early clouds should give way in the afternoon.
“Gradually,” Monahan said, “we’ll start to see more sunshine build in.”
However, many Georgians will care more about the weather in Jacksonville for the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party, also known as the Georgia-Florida football game.
The weather should be in the mid-70s and mostly sunny with a slight breeze around kickoff at 3:30 p.m., Channel 2 reported.
For those staying in Atlanta who still need their college football kick, Georgia State hosts Coastal Carolina at 2 p.m.
Kennesaw State is also on the road at Charleston Southern at 6 p.m., and the temperature should be in the upper 60s, according to local weather reports.
As the Hawks face the Chicago Bulls at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at State Farm Arena, fans need to be aware of road closures downtown because there will be a lot of them.
A helicopter delivery of 160 tons of steel for a rooftop signage project at the 100 Peachtree building will shut down pedestrian and vehicle traffic. See the closure map here.

On Sunday, the temperature should go back to 70, and it’ll rise back into the low and mid-70s by Tuesday and Wednesday, Channel 2 reported.
