This weekend should epitomize spring with warm weather and a few spotty April showers.
The chance of rain is about 20% today, but showers aren’t expected to reach metro Atlanta until about 10 p.m., Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
Until then, Saturday is expected to be cloudy and warm.
Today’s pollen count is significantly lower than Friday’s, which soared to 6,262, the highest level Atlanta had seen since 2013, according to Atlanta Allergy and Asthma.

Allergy sufferers should fare much better since today’s count is “just” 1,596, Deon said, though that’s still considered to be in the “extremely high” range.
“The good news is there’s more rain in the forecast so that should help us out,” Deon said.
Areas south of Atlanta saw a few passing showers Saturday morning, but North Georgia shouldn’t see much rain until later tonight.
“We have a lot of clouds today but we should see some breaks in those clouds, so don’t worry,” Deon said, adding that afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the mid-70s.
That’s good news for Braves fans, who should be able to watch the home game against the Miami Marlins at 7:20 p.m. without fear of getting soaked. Traffic near SunTrust Park at I-75 and I-285 is expected to increase ahead of first pitch and after the game.
Drivers could also see heavy delays on the Southside as families return from spring break. The stretch of I-75 through Henry County is typically the hardest hit during spring travel, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
The good news is that the Georgia Department of Transportation has suspended most of its interstate road work for a second consecutive weekend to accommodate the influx of travelers.
While April showers can be unpredictable, the heat this weekend won’t be. Atlanta should see above average temperatures from sunrise to sunset today, and should flirt with 80 degrees on Sunday.
The chance of rain increases to 40% Sunday before a wet Monday kicks off the new work week. Despite the rain, daily high temperatures are expected to remain a few degrees above average.
