Take an umbrella, and drive cautiously.
Most of metro Atlanta is expected to get less than a half inch of rain Tuesday, but even light rain on roads could trigger traffic issues Tuesday.
Ramps and interstates are slick, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
“If you do have to head out early,” traffic reporter Mark Arum said, “please watch your speed.”
Just before 6 a.m., Arum said there had been at least two crashes, one on the southbound I-285 ramp to westbound I-20 and another one on the eastbound I-20 ramp to the northbound Downtown Connector.
Fast-moving showers are expected to last throughout the morning, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Expect mostly light rain, some heavier downpours and overcast skies that last throughout the day.
Showers will move at about 40 mph “so that by the time we get to noon, most of that’s gone,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Temperatures were 52 degrees in Atlanta, 52 in Blairsville and 53 in Griffin just before 7 a.m.
