A rainy and cloudy Saturday should give way to a sun-filled Sunday in metro Atlanta and North Georgia.

Showers in the morning “will all be light as we head into the afternoon,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

Clouds likely will stick around as things dry out, Monahan said.

Rain likely on Saturday afternoon

Sunday is expected to start with fog and low clouds, but that is expected to clear out for sunshine as the day progresses.

And the forecast gets better. “Monday will be a gorgeous day across North Georgia,” Monahan said.

Saturday’s high is expected to be 63.

About 5 p.m., the temps were 59 in Atlanta, 63 in Griffin and 49 in Blairsville.
