Saturday’s warmth and rain should give way to cooler temperatures Sunday and into the week.

Rain should move into metro Atlanta on Saturday by 8 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News. Sunday’s high is forecast at 54, far below the 70 expected Saturday.

In fact, a freeze watch has been issued for metro Atlanta by the National Weather Service.

The freeze watch runs from 10 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday. It means sub-freezing temperatures are possible.

The conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, so people should prepare to protect plants and pets.

About 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the temperature was 67 in Atlanta.
