It was a hot Halloween.

Temperatures soared to a record-breaking 86 degrees Monday, passing the 85 mark set in 1961, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Temps also reached a record-breaking 86 Sunday.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said Atlanta temperatures have already increased above the average high for this time of year, 69 degrees. And on the heels of temperatures that soared to a record-breaking 86 Sunday, temps were forecast to reach a high of 85 by 4 p.m. Monday and possibly break the record high of 85 set in 1961, Channel 2 reported. Atlanta temperatures moved above the average high for this time of year, 69 degrees, by 11 a.m.

Temps were 72 degrees in Atlanta, 56 in Blairsville, and 59 in Griffin just before 10:30 p.m.

Atlanta should expect higher than average temperatures Wednesday.
