Cold: The snow is over, but early morning temperatures will be in the teens. Expect the weather Wednesday to stay frigid but sunny with highs in the low 30s — not enough to melt the 1-3 inches of ice and snow that has already blanketed the ground.

Commute: State transportation officials predict road conditions will continue to be treacherous across most of metro Atlanta. They are advising people to stay home if they can, and warning those who must drive to proceed slowly and cautiously.

Schools: Metro Atlanta's public schools are closed Wednesday. For a complete list of closings, visit ajc.com.

Government: Gov. Nathan Deal issued the order allowing state agencies to close Wednesday. Some local government offices have announced closings and delays across metro Atlanta. Be sure to call or check online first if you have government business Wednesday.
