It’s finally starting to feel like winter, Atlanta.

The forecast for the first weekend of 2016 includes partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan.

High temperatures will reach about 50 degrees before dipping into the middle 30s at night for Saturday and Sunday, Monahan said. Then, a cold front will move in.

Expect a cold start to work and school week, with high temperatures remaining in the upper 40s Monday. Tuesday’s temperature will start in the upper 20s and warm to about 44 degrees, Monahan said.

The five-day forecast is a dry one, a welcome break for area of Georgia still drying out from the wettest December in Atlanta since 1919.
