Sunday morning started with sunny skies, cool air and below-average temperatures.

The weather marks a fine salute to the last day of spring.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said breezy conditions were expected throughout the rest of Father’s Day, which had an expected high of 85 degrees in the metro area.

Highs Sunday were expected to range from 80 degrees in Blairsville to 87 degrees in Rome.

Walls suggested “perfect” hiking weather with the low humidity and temperatures in the low 80s around Amicalola Falls

Metro Atlantas can expect highs back in the low 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday and sunny skies throughout the five-day forecast. Friday brings a 20 percent chance of isolated rain storms.
