Metro Atlanta has been enjoying plenty of dry, albeit hot, weather this week.
Well, that’s likely going to be over by Friday — the dry part, not the hot part — according to Channel 2 Action News.
Only isolated storms are possible in LaGrange and areas north of metro Atlanta from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
“Temperatures will be quite hot though, so you want to be careful in the heat and stay hydrated throughout the day,” meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Temperatures are still expected to reach the 90s through Sunday, and rain should be just as long-lasting.
A 40 percent chance of isolated storms and scattered showers will take effect Friday and last through the weekend.
Temperatures will reach a high of 93 degrees by 5 p.m. Wednesday and increase to 94 degrees Thursday.
Temps were 84 degrees in Atlanta, 74 degrees in Blairsville and 81 degrees in Griffin just before 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
