Sunday’s crisp start, with chilly winds and temperatures in the 30s and 40s was quickly dissipating about 11 a.m.

“Clear and cold for a lot of us getting off to our coldest start since the springtime; since the early part of April,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said Sunday morning.

By noon, the sun is expected to be out in full force warming the metro area and Monahan said Sunday temperatures are expected to be above average.

Temperatures were 65 degrees in Atlanta, 50 degrees in Blairsville and 64 degrees in Griffin shortly after 11 a.m.

The high Sunday is 77 degrees.

A cold front is expected to come through Monday, but the metro area should stay mostly dry, Monahan said.
