After sunset Monday the mild temps that reached into the 60s will cool and drop into the 50s, according to Channel 2 Action News.

"A stray shower possible anytime through the afternoon into the early evening hours, but generally speaking, most of us stay dry late afternoon/early evening," Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

But expect light showers to return overnight, Nitz said.

It was 55 degrees in Atlanta, 40 in Blairsville and 55 in Griffin shortly before 9:30 p.m.

There is a 70 percent chance of showers Tuesday morning.

Metro areas are expected to get about a half inch of rain by the end of the day Tuesday, meteorologists said.
