If your plans are to head to the mountains for the Memorial Day weekend or stay in metro Atlanta, there’s a good chance you’ll run into some rain.
“Make sure to have an indoor plan in place,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said Saturday morning.
Showers could go from northwest Georgia into the northeastern part of the state in the early afternoon, with another round possible around 6 p.m., Walls said.
Some of the storms could bring large hail, damaging winds and lightning, according to the National Weather Service.
However, things should stay dry Saturday in metro Atlanta, though there’s a chance of isolated storms.
Chances of rain are 30 percent in North Georgia on Saturday and 30 percent on Sunday.
As for the holiday itself, well ... there are “widespread chances” of rain “right in time for your Memorial Day,” Walls said. Chance of rain Monday is at 60 percent.
About 2:15 p.m., temps were at 80 in Atlanta, 84 in Griffin and 81 in Blairsville.
