Parts of metro Atlanta and many spots in northwest Georgia have already started to see spotty showers, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The on-again, off-again showers could continue Wednesday afternoon.

“And your rain chance goes up late Thursday and continues into Friday,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

The forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of precipitation Wednesday, a 30 percent chance Thursday and a 60 percent chance Friday.

In the meantime, northwest Georgia could see isolated showers and thunderstorms at any point through about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

“So you may have to deal with some of this during your afternoon commute,” meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Temperatures were 80 degrees in Atlanta, 74 degrees in Blairsville and 79 degrees in Griffin just before 6:45 p.m.

The expected high in Atlanta is 83 degrees.

The pollen count was 99 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air Tuesday. That's well below the current season high of 4,107 and last year's season high of 6,152.
