Most areas of metro Atlanta saw little rain Thursday, which isn’t expected to change for the next few days.
There is a slight chance for showers each day through Monday, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Although Atlanta’s rain chance will be only 10 percent Friday, that will increase to 60 percent by Sunday.
Spots about 60 miles east of Atlanta, in Madison, were drenched with heavy downpours Thursday, and stronger storms moved through central and south Georgia.
“As we watch for any bigger activity, it’s going to be on the south side,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Additional pop-up showers were expected to continue into the evening in metro Atlanta.
Don’t rule out one or two storms, Minton said. The metro area faces a marginal risk of small hail, strong wind and lightning.
“For most of us, we’re just going to see some little pop-up showers during the day,” she said.
However, the wet weather won’t lead to lower temperatures.
Temps were 83 degrees in Atlanta, 78 in Blairsville and 82 in Griffin just at 7 p.m.
Atlanta is expected to reach a high of 81 degrees Thursday and 86 degrees Friday.
The pollen count decreased from 180 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air Wednesday to 154 particles Thursday. That's well below the current season high of 4,107 and last year's season high of 6,152.
