Is north Georgia finally bidding farewell to temperatures in the 90s?

Today’s forecast calls for a high of 91 degrees, with partly cloudy skies and a 20 percent chance of rain, according to Channel 2 Action News Meteorologist Brian Monahan. It would be Atlanta’s 88th day with highs in the 90s.

Temperatures were 90 in Atlanta, 89 in Blairsville and 91 in Griffin about 5 p.m.

The best chance for an isolated shower today will come in the north Georgia mountains. Metro Atlanta is expected to stay dry.

Monahan says today may be the last day with highs in the 90s for most of the area. Monday’s high temperature is expected to top out at 88 degrees. After tomorrow, highs are expected to fall quickly, reaching the upper 70s by Thursday.
