College football’s Georgia connections

While the College Football Playoff games are still a couple of weeks away,  Georgia teams are playing Saturday in a bowl game and for a national championship.

In bowl game action, the GSU Panthers will be in the Cure Bowl that begins at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Orlando.

Closer to home for football fans, the Celebration Bowl kicked off at noon Saturday at Mercedez-Benz Stadium and being televised on WSB-TV Channel 2.

KSU president to step down

Sam Olens announced this past week that he would be stepping down as Kennesaw State University's president. Olens has had a high-profile political career in Georgia, but he faced challenges from the start with his role at KSU.
