Six-stall food hall Southern Feed Store is slated to open in East Atlanta this summer.

The project, from developer Philippe Pellerin of Pellerin Real Estate, will be located at 1245 Glenwood Ave., What Now Atlanta first reported. The space was formerly home to Graveyard Tavern, which closed in early 2020.

Southern Feed Store, an homage to the business that first occupied the building when it was built in 1927, is under construction.

The project will be anchored by Buteco, a Brazilian coffee shop and bar that opened its first location in Pellerin’s Beacon development in Grant Park in 2018. In this location, Buteco will focus on coffee, cocktails and music, while continuing to serve a menu of Brazilian cuisine at the Beacon.

Buteco owner Rafa Pereira will also serve as the general manager and part-owner of Southern Feed Store.

In addition to Buteco, Pellerin said he is close to announcing an established barbecue restaurant as a tenant.

We are also pretty far along in talks with an established BBQ restaurant who we hope to announce soon.

Pellerin has received more than 150 inquiries about occupying the remaining stalls, with plans to hold an open house from noon-3 p.m. Jan. 13.

“We are seeking the best local chefs to fill what we hope will become a neighborhood institution known for great food, stiff drinks and a welcoming environment,” Pellerin said via email.
