Tech giant Apple Inc. plans its latest product announcement today, and the speculation and rumors are running rampant.

In Japan, farmers in the Fukushima region -- which was exposed to radiation due to a nuclear reactor's meltdown caused by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami -- say they have been able to grow flowers using polyester, of all things, instead of soil. The farmers are using thin, polyester fibers to grow the plants, creating interesting possibilities for future crop growth using non-soil options.
