Every week we comb through the various tech meetups, hackathons, demos, open houses and other tech events happening in our Austin's tech scene and tell you which ones are Google-calendar worthy.

When: May 2, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Facebook's Austin offices,300 W. 6th Street, Suite 1000

What: This event is geared toward soon-to-be college or code school graduates. You'll hear from experts in the field on how to land your first job, including how to get an interview, and talk about things like paying back student loans. This event offers good networking opportunities: one of the speakers is a recruiter with Google.

Cost: Free

When: May 2, 7 to 9 p.m.

Where: Capital Factory, 701 Brazos Street, Suite 1601

What: The non-profit Women Who Code focus on helping women pursue careers in technology.  While Women Who Code offers networking opportunities for women, the group also offers technical study groups and hack events. The group's organizers say current and aspiring coders are welcome. Bringing a laptop is encouraged.

Cost: Free

When: May 3, 6:30 to 8:45  p.m.

Where: WeWork offices, 600 Congress Avenue

What:This Civic Hack Night is a chance for "hackers" to work on developing civic apps. This hack night is for developers, designers, writers, data scientists and policy wonks. People of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

Cost: Free, but bring a laptop.
